Yes, I agree there is not clear information about it and so many sources provide different information. Do you have any suggestion what name I should use to be close to &quot;true&quot; :D

I&#039;ve visit planetcatfish.com in past when looking for information and even there was not 100% sure what species is it.

This is not Ancistrus dolichopterus. It is the &quot;common&quot; Ancistrus, which is not quite sure what species it is, as it&#039;s been captive bred for so long that all traces of where the original fish came from are now lost [not helped by the fact that many books has the incorrect species names].
